The difference between FRP profiles and FRP Pultruded profiles

With the rising demand of composite material in the sector of material engineering, new discoveries have been made to replace many conventional used materials. CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic), FRP profiles, GRP, and glass fiber based plastics are used for manufacturing high end appliances and applications in the industries like defense, aircraft, space, special structure, automobiles, etc. The industrial manufacturers started replacing metals and cement based products with FRP profiles for producing high strength and weightless products.

FRP profiles can be fabricated with listed parameters:
  • Size
  • Shape
  • Color
  • Strength Durability
  • Impact resistance
  • UV protection
Among all these materials, FRP profiles are used by companies for manufacturing cooling towers due to its excellent cooling properties. Introduction to highest quality production methods generated demand for FRP pultruded profiles in the real market. Now the companies are using these materials to build packaged cooling towers along with huge capacity based cooling towers.

Reinforced plastic profiles are made from composite materials that contain fiber. With reinforcement, desirable properties can be achieved by the manufacturing units. Moreover, additives in FRP profiles bring additional properties- color, flame retardant surface, non-slippery, UV protected, etc.

Pultruded FRP profiles are created with consistent composite profile. The term Pultrusion constitutes “pull” and “extrusion” and the process is used for pulling the material like resin via a shaping die. FRP Pultruded profiles are sturdier than other products that have been manufactured via different composite processing ways.

FRP profiles are prepared from:

  • Fiber- such as glass, carbon, ceramic and aramid
  • Plastic- such as epoxide, polyester, HDPE, PTFE
  • Additives- such as colors, conductivity, UV retardants

FRP profiles manufacturers can produce the range of products in various ways. These are versatile materials that can be mould, pushed, profiled, pulled, rotated, etc. in any shape and size. Besides these, manufacturing units also producing GRP- glass reinforced plastic profiles for the clients. These products have high tensile strength and durability and are achievable in limitless designs.
